Blood_Glucose_Simulation

Blood Glucose Simulation to explore the impact of insulin. [Instructions](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1EJJERoHl4buSUvSNTmyJJTPJlyMKNzAxDL0xeRrOnD0/edit) This simulation is an attempt at a “Sim City” inspired Blood Sugar Simulation game. Users are given a world which includes a source and a drain. The users place alpha and beta cells in the pancreas section of the world as well as liver cells in the liver section of the world. Finally, users connect the blood vessels through the pancreas and through the liver. Flow is circular, everything within in the blood vessel flows from the source to the drain at which point it reappears back at the source. When blood sugar is low, the alpha cells within the pancreas create glucagon which tells the liver to start releasing glucose. When blood sugar is high the beta cells within the pancreas create insulin which tells the liver and body tissue to start absorbing glucose. If the glucose level gets too high or too low the body will die and the simulation will stop. Users can set up the world however they like. The user can then run the simulation to see if they can keep the person alive as well as look at a plot of how the blood sugar level in the body changes as glucagon and insulin are released. This simulation was created by Ashok Basawapatna.
